Joystick problems, please help!

My joysticks keep messing up. Anytime they are used the rudder is constantly jammed to the right and the POV[hat switch] won't work at all to snap view in games. I have tried my Logitech cordless freedom and an old MS Precision Pro USB. Newest drivers for both and all the latest updates. Any help is appreciated.
