Joystick: Logitech 2.4 Cordless: Receiver Question

I have this broken Logitech 2.4 Freedom joystick. The reciever is broken, and the joystick is out of warrenty. I was wondering if I somehow found another receiver & bought it, would it work?

call em up. logitech is very lenient with warrenty
