Joystick keeps disappearing in 2K???

Hi everyone: wasn't sure whether to post here or Hardware, so here goes 🙂
I have a Microsoft Precision Pro stick. Just switched to 2Kpro about a month ago. Got around to hooking up my stick, and when I go to check the status ( in the add/remove joystick window)it switches back and forth between ok/not connected. Figuring it was drivers, I uninstalled/reinstalled my SBLive drivers(since that's where the gameport is) and it was fine for 2 hours of UT. I go out, come home, load Q3, problem is back.
Checked the sound card in Device Manager, and it says all is well. Any ideas????

Well I know I am an idiot so I'd check the connection? Since you didn't mention on your post that you double checked the connections. Is there W2K dirvers for your joystick? That might help.

interestingly enough, microsoft does not have 2K drivers on their site( probably my problem). This sucks, as this is my stick of choice after going through about 5 of them 🙁

My joystick doesn't disappear but does stop working at times. I have a Precision Pro with win2k installed. I couldn't find a driver for win2k at microsoft site. But did find a newer driver than I had, going to try it.

I have the same problem with my Force Feedback Wheel. They also screwed up with the drivers and put the brake on the R-Axis! Now the wheel doesn't even work right in Midtown Madness 1 & 2. 🙁

probably Microsoft getting ready to release their new line of "2K Compatible" joysticks.
I just got back from buying a Logitech stick that is 2K compatible. Guess we'll see how it goes.

the new Logitech stick includes 2K drivers- it works fine with Q3, however does not work at all with UT!!! Shoot me please :0
