My father used to be a pilot and I want to get him MS Flight Simulator this year and a joystick so he can fly from home. :)

I'm looking for something somewhat realistic, but with throttle control as well that works well with MSFS. Any recommendations?

I like the fact that this one has separate throttle for him, but has anyone used it? I also don't like the joystick itself as much.

Any recommendations? i'd like to stay under $150 for the joystick.

That's a very good joystick right there... otherwise Microsoft sidewinders are great, but don't have a separate throttle.

You can get it a bit less expensive at Amazon. I'm tempting to get this one myself to replace my aging LogicTech Wingman.

For flight sim hardware you should check here:

CH Products

These are some of the best made flight sim hardware around. CH stuff will not fall apart and is very hard to break compaired to the other stuff on the market. They make yokes, joysticks, throttles, and pedals. No steering wheels or games pads.

CH Product review page

Besure to check the link on their page for reviews and see who reviews their stuff. These are hardcord flight and gaming sites. The CH stuff is not cheap but is well worth the price. You do not want to forget about the pedals. I would get pedals before a throttle, but thats just me. Also when you check on the reviews at some of the sites, you will find reviews for other manufactures products as well. It is worth looking at just to see whats out there.

MS discontinued the sidewinder line a few years ago.

A little contradicting to what my post says but I just ordered the Saitek thru the Egg though amazon is about $5 cheaper but they shipped it right away. Amazon is known for very slow shipping unless you want to pay extra. Will report a review once received and have it used.
