joystick drivers?

i got this real generic joystick from goodwill yesterday for 99 cents. it uses a game port which i have plugged into my sound card. it has no company name on it or anything, i can't find drivers for it. the only thing i have is the part number, 404223-001. google gives me people looking for the same drviers. anyone got suggestions?

never seen that kind before, check the manufacturer label, those things are usually never removed. or you can get desperate open the joystick look for the biggest IC and google the model number.

winXP didn't recognize it and i can't find any joysticks in the device manager. smack me once it works.

no, i'm saving my $7. and it would be worth 99 cents if it works. im using the turtle beach santa cruz, as of now it's saying

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

What's the chipset on your motherboard?

I thought some nForce2 boards couldn't use the soundcard gameport for some odd reason.

rockin' an nForce2 Shuttle MN31N. i tried plugging it into the gameport on my motherboard but the I/O panel won't let me push it in all the way, argh
