Joystick 15 pin to USB?

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, so if it isnt, I appologize, and please re-locate it. 🙂

I have an older pc joytick that has a 15 pin connector. I just got a new system, and wondered if they make an adapter that will convert the 15 pin to USB? My new rig doesnt have a 15 pin game port. Would this be ok to do, or would it be better to buy a new joystick? I hate to go $50+ for a joystick. Thanks 🙂
