Joy Ride movie question (spoilers)

So the trucker crashes into the hotel while being shot dead. Then afterward, the cop says he was some guy who worked for an ice company... but is heard over the CB indicating he really wasn't dead... and he mentioned something about a storm washing everything away...

From what I gather about the ending: they are trying to make us think the trucker kept the ice-man's body (from early in the movie) and put it in the cab while driving it head-on into the hotel, framing him as the trucker.

BUT... this would not make sense since Fuller (the shorter dude) was man-handled by the trucker just before this, so he must have seen his face. After the truck crashed into the hotel, they opened the door and saw the dead body... he would've known it wasn't really the trucker's body. Venna (the chick) who was kidnapped also should have made this connection, but didn't.

Did I completely miss the boat on this ending? How is he still out there and what is this washing-everything-away storm that he's talking about ?

Well, the truck driver could have been wearing a mask and that's why the guy didn't see what he looked like. It was probably too dark in the cab for her to see his face. I don't remember anything about a storm washing everything away but maybe they were talking about it washing away finger prints?

Just before he hung Fuller on the fence (so he can run him over with the truck), the trucker had no mask on. You can clearly see his face just before this scene when he pulled him into the hotel room to watch Venna potentially get shot in the head. But after the truck crashed in, the camera never showed the dead trucker's face... only his wrist/arm/watch (for some reason)... but Fuller and Venna were both there behind the cops to see this (and you'd assume they actually saw his face)...

Still, Charlotte, the kidnapped girl with the Z3, should've told the cops he switched bodies cause she was in the truck while it crashed in...

...IF this was really what we're led to believe.

Hmmmm.... you have a point. Maybe both of the truckers looked enough alike that it was easy to mistake them.

It's just a movie! It's not supposed to make sense!!

Just learned through Yahoo movie boards for this movie that there are 4 different endings on the DVD.

I really need to figure this one out!

I watched the DVD and they had like 1 hour of alternate endings. I think that if they spent that money on the rest of the movie instead of making a million endings it would have been a lot better.

I agree, we(me and my family) also thought this did not end right. Like it has already been said, switching himself out for the dead ice truck driver is not possible as the girl as well as probablly venna and fuller would have seen this. I think it was a totally stupid ending, that really no one understood. But the movie up to that point was alright

Yep, there's 2-3 alternate endings. They tried to make everything pan out... They failed, imho, but this one was the best of the batch.
