I just purchased a E5400 :) It was $1000 Then I applied a nice 35% off coupon plus free shipping. Got it for $750 shipped. I hope I got a good deal. Here's what I got.

Intel C2D 7250
4 GB Ram
320GB 7200 RPM HD
Nvidia 9200M Video Card
Intel 5300 Wireless
1280x800 Screen

So am I right in assuming I got a good deal or could I have done better??? Also I know I should have asked this before I bought it but, I hope this comes with a SD memory card reader. And the laptop is 100% matte black correct? And I got it with the 6 cell battery. That doesn't stick out the back does it?

Sadly and to be a wet ahole blanket, its one thing to say you did get good bang for the buck hardware. But when the E5400 cpu is one great overclocking cpu, and dell as a track record fails to deliver the bios settings to take advantage of that overclocking potential, yes you may have been ripped off.

As for me, I have a similar chip I presently choose not to overclock, but point being, should I have a need for more speed later, I have the bios motherboard options to improve speed. And I can choose a mild and stable small 30% overclock or be a fool and push it to a 60% max.

But if you never wanted to overclock, yes you got a decent deal on the hardware.

Yeah this laptop will not be overclocked. I do that on my desktop but this laptop is only for web surfing and email and burning a few dvd's or cd's I know I could have gone cheaper for that but I wanted an all matte laptop and those are impossible to find. And the only other one is the Lenovo T410 series and after pricing one of those out even with coupons it came to like $1200 no thanks...

Why? I thought the 5300 was supposed to be better than the 5100?

I went ahead and got the Intel 80GB G2 for $240 shipped. I got it from Provantage.com Not a bad price. The Vertex 60GB was about $220 shipped. So got $20 more you get what is supposed to be the best SSD drive you can get.
