nothing compared to steven colbert's awesome fire-breathing dragon. i'd hesitate to call it a comedy even - i'm glad you guys had fun n'all (and you got paid) but hey, if it's just your crew saying godbye to each other( read: rubbing it in) should i really be watching? it seems more like something private, for you, not for the public.

rant over. i didn't like it.

Having watched the show consistently for the last 8-10 years, I thought it was a fitting finale.

Jon Stewart is humble and modest and selfless. With the exception of his moment of zen, the last show wasn't about him, but about everybody else who helped him get where he is today.

Bingo!

It was a great show and pretty much what I expected. A big thank you to his team, staff, etc.

That was my takeaway as well. It fit for the style of his show just as Colberts fit for his style.

I'm watching it right now. Obviously it's not the same as the usual episode, but I think it's great. Not the funniest episode, but it brought back some great memories and was a great way to wrap up his tenure.

His bullshit speech really summed up well the entire basis of the show-and of it's success.

No better or worse than the average finale show. Most of them are pretty forgettable.

IMO, Jon Stewart's show has been pretty lame and boring for many years. I stopped watching it at least 10 years ago.

Here's hoping Trevor Noah can do a decent job.
I bet he'll be fine. He's seemed funny enough and quite sharp on the few bits he's done for the show. Plus, they're keeping the writing staff. Maybe it'll take a small amount of time for him to hit his stride, but that always happens when you have a change of host or a brand new talk show.

I thought his show turned boring a while ago. Seemed to me it changed significantly when he announced his 'retirement'. After a few episodes I stopped watching it.

I know you don't care, but Stewart's last show was for him... not you.

It was a final tribute to all the people who'd been on the show. More memorable than the Letterman finale for me.

I know right, I enjoy the OP's show much bette,.. oh, wait.

well dude, you just gave away the right to ever comment on anything you do not personally work in. if the UPS man shits on your package, you gonna like it because YOU dont deliver packages.

@everybody else

well, i guess the consensus' view is that it was a good show. i've never been particularly fond of his "correspondents", and while i did enjoy the news first, and the daily guest second, i thought the rest of the comedy was a bit forced - kind of SNL style, but even more diluted. i really wasn't in it for the jokes, but rather, a show were i can get my news bs-free.

(and, colbert's last week was glorious)

I loved clip of the celebs he had gone after giving him shit for leaving.

I also thought his short bit with Wyatt Cenac was funny in an awkward way.

But I agree it was the kind of finale I expected, one where he said thank you to his staff and audience.

The finale went right over your head apparently.
