The 2 democractic proposals are voted down in committee, but the republican proposal to reinstitute $50M of funding to abstinence education passes.

Lo, the mighty power of the democrats and their super majority:)

ED: the direct link is the Dailyshow "Share" link, so their link is broken.

Just go to http://www.thedailyshow.com and click on the first video called Democratic Super Majority. The Schumer bit is at the very end of the clip.

it is the most watched news program of the 18-25 demographic

I always new that demographic were idiots. This confirms it. It's not a news program, it is a comedy show.

I get my news wherever I find it. As far as television programs go, the Daily Show provides more news of value than most, and some of the most cerebral humor as well.

Have you ever watched it? Last night's episode was particularly good; and not just the portion about how lame the Democrats are, they also discussed the sham which our stock market is, and interviewed the author of a biography of Pat Tillman. I highly recommend watching the whole thing.

You just confirmed that you don't even know the difference between beliefs and facts.

Also, with regard to facts, 'Daily Show' viewers ace political quiz.

It is a comedy news program, but that fact is obviously too complecated for some to grasp.

yep, and yahoo, google news, huffpo, andrewsullivan.com, nytimes.com, New York Magazine, and a few other places. I mean, I'd love to read more but we can't all be Sarah Palin and read "all of them".

There is no need to harp on anyone for trivial shit like that. For all any of us know, he may well have hit the "k" but it simply didn't register due to a crumb under the key or such.

I think the idiots are the ones watching the "news programs" and not realizing that it's comedy. At least the Daily Show is honest about being comedy.

I was trying to make a funny pun that would only be caught by people with high intelligence. Given my post was regarding a "news" show the replacement of "knew" with "new" seemed funny to me.

naw, screw it. I was typing too fast.

I would retort that most "news agencies" could be labeled the same the way with how they report sensationalized crap.

The real sad thing is, spidey probably believes it backwards and thinks fox news viewers are the most 'informed'. Stephen Colbert wasn't kidding when he said 'reality has a well known liberal bias'. Spidey calling ANYONE an idiot is just  worthy

On top of that, "Daily Show" viewers know more about election issues than people who regularly read newspapers or watch television news, according to the National Annenberg Election Survey. (Pop quiz)

Dannagal Goldthwaite Young, a senior research analyst at the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, said "Daily Show" viewers came out on top "even when education, party identification, following politics, watching cable news, receiving campaign information online, age and gender are taken into consideration."

of course it's fake news. he couldn't discuss the fact that iran is developing nuclear material near Qom (sounds like 'bomb'), without slightly mispronouncing it and making meltdown jokes about an eruption of hot 'qum.'

but the ridiculousness needs to be pointed out and he and colbert do a great job of doing so.

That isn't fake news, that is comedic license.

On the other hand, calling Ahmadinejad a dictator and quoting mistranslations of his comments out of context is fake news, and the Daily Show is hardly the only ones doing that.

I dunno ive just always viewed it as more of a comedy show, though I do watch it on occasion. He is usually pretty brief about most of the stories he talks about and seems more intent on making jokes. Really though Everyone knows hannity has a way funnier show, he pulls off the right wing loon way better then Colbert.

I don't much get the chance to watch The Daily Show but based on some of the recent postings I am getting the idea that Stewart has switched his shtick onto the Dems.

Do his pieces on ACORN and inaction by the Dems mean he is now an equal opportunity skewer?

Anyway, if I wanted to catch Dem humor Letterman still delivers, as does Maddow. Both are really stretching now, though.

He definitely has a liberal bias, but he goes after democrats on a regular basis.
