Jesus H Christ..

"Offensive GURU"? Bitch please..

I can't remember the last time we dominated ANY team on offense (Oh yeah, maybe it was that fluke Superbowl win we got), and RARELY score more that 21 points per game..

4th and 1? Pass it.

3rd and 23? Run it.

Where to run it? Why right up the middle, where you are getting ZERO YARDS... REPEATEDELY

Time outs? Pshaw.. they aren't important. Let's burn them all, we don't need them since we ALWAYS beat the opposing teams by SUCH a wide margin... </sarcasm>

He's offensive alright.. But not in a football sense. :|

Piece if sh!t.

Now Payton of NO - HE'S a damn good coach..

does he call all the plays or does he have an offensive coordinator? THe panthers seem to do the same thing though, Dan Henning (our O.C.) really needs to go...

It's funny.. All of the talk radio shows, pundits, and people that ARE real fans seem to agree with my frustration.

It's not my opinion only.

But then again, you are a sh!tty troll that I shouldn't have responded to in the first place.

Gruden is like Ron Zook.. and they are both like the 'STANDARD FOOTBALL ISSUE' coach.

They think that football NEEDS to be started with a running game. They are so damned predictable that it's painfully easy for the other team to defend against their offense. Then, they both play 'prevent' style once they score a single fvcking point.. so they end up losing since their defense is tired. They act like passing doesn't even exist until they've either lost a sequence of games or they're down and out with nothing to lose..

Gruden, after screwing things up this season without being able to get his 'run up the middle' offense working, he decided to pass a ton. So fvcking what.. his passing was obvious. God.. If I can predict what the TB offense is gonna do, be damn well asured that the professional football players on the other team can too!

And, to keep them coaching, both Zook and Gruden pull a miraculous win out of their @ss once in a while - attributed to the shear 'evenness' that football pits athletes against each other.

Boo to both Gruden and Zook.. Though, I at least hope Zook will recoup and become a decent coach. I wouldn't mind if Gruden DIAF.

Wow, that's a little over the line, from an elite member no less.

I'd say don't take it too seriously, but it's a little late for that...

add bengals offensive and defensive coordinators to the list...they dont realize that carson cant make deep passes if he doesnt have time to let the recievers get down field. he has been knocked down more in 7 games this year than the previous 32.

all i will say is this. on 4th and 1 many coaches decide to pass because the defense will not expect it. i do not know what kind of pass he called but if it was a play action to the fbak or something that wouldn't be a bad call. and the 3rd and 23 run was probably him figuring they weren't going to get it passing so why risk the interception and just try to get as many yards as you can b4 the punt.

Just a side note....when was the last time Tampa Bay had a good offense? Even before Gruden they've had crappy offenses.

Yep. Calling draws on 3rd and really long is kind of common...especially when you have an inexperienced QB. Better to play for the punt when you've got a great defense than to put your QB in a bad spot.

HEY, Mark, please don't casually deride that victory.

Remember? You won money on that game . . . from me. :p

Other than that, I'd like to feel your pain, but, as a lifelong Eagles fan, I had to suffer through both Joe Kuharich and Rich Kotite -- not only two of the dumbest professional football coaches ever, but also two of the dumbest adult human beings ever!

Give him a real team and he'll produce.

His first year with the Raiders the offense was #22 in points scored.

Then they became 8th, 3rd, and 4th in the NFL, and the year after that the team he built was #2.

You really can't build your offense around a guy like Bruce Gradkowski or Chris Simms...

Butch Davis... 24-35 in the NFL. Quit over the stress of it all...
John McKay... Lost his first 26 games as an NFL head coach. 42-88 over all... Never brought the Bucs a Lombardi trophy unlike some other "crappy" coach who will remain nameless here...

I'm not making a list of the worst coaches ever... Just a list of NFL coaches off the top of my head worse than Grudin.

Oh yeah... add Steve Spurrier to that list. Terrible NFL coach.

John Mckay came into the league with a brand new team. His 4th year (1979), he made the playoffs and played for the NFC championship, not to mention making the playoffs two more times in 1980 and 1981. Compare that with the Seahawks (same year entering the NFL) or the Houston Texans. He did a damn good job.

Butch Davis, OTHO, inherited a team that went 5-27 the past two years, and won 7 games his first year, then 9 his second year and went to the playoffs.

You can have Spurrier... :)
I think, given the right tools, he would have been a good coach. He simply just didn't take to the stress too well.

TB's numbers:
Pts Yds Pass Rush
Offense 12.8 250.5 167.8 82.8
Defense 21.6 342.8 208.9 133.9

Poor offense and defense, you could blame the coach but I think this level of performance points to the players too.
