Jolla ports Sailfish OS to the Nexus 4. Nexus 5, and 7 ports in the works.

I'm happy I didn't sell my Nexus 4 when I bought a Nexus 5.

I've been meaning to put Ubuntu Touch on my Nexus 4 and I'll probably give this a try too. The Ubuntu install looks like a hassle, so I might try this one first.

To be honest I don't even care. I must be getting old when I don't care about tinkering anymore :(

Why is this OS useful? Not trolling. I went to the website and I "don't get it"

1. Mobile use of QT

2. Prism-proof

3. Real Linux package management

4. Not fully opensource

Edit:// Just realised you said Prism proof. What are you even talking about? The thing is not fully opensource so you dont know what the hell is really in there.
How was Android compromised by Prism exactly? It wasn't last time I checked.

Ok I think this way above my pay grade. Good for those that can use it. I don't even know what 1-3 outside of Linux.

Maybe it's safer to say that the NSA can compromise Android but Android isn't compromised by the NSA by default. (or something like that)

yes it is. the android-powered phone in your hand isn't, but the android OS is.
Shhh.

It's the same thing with Sailfish OS. But if Sailfish OS isn't good for him, then Android shouldn't be either.

Sailfish is not fully opensource. The only part of Android OS that is not opensource is the binary drivers(which Google has nothing to do with). That's more than Jolla could say about Sailfish.

I liked Maemo back in the day, but the hardware was woefully under powered for the OS. Also, I want a phone with a good hardware keyboard again.
