Joining Win2K server domain

I have 2 Windows 2000 Servers. I want one to join the others domain. but it keeps telling me that the domain does not exist...or cannot find the domain. I went through microsoft support page and none of their solutions is solving my problem.

Has anyone run into this problem?

I installed and configured active directory. I changed my DNS to the Domain Controller on the server trying to join. what other information would you need?
 
Are the 2 servers both PDc's? At the very least u will have to demote 1 server to BDC before doing anything.
 
There are no PDCs and BDCs in a Windows 2000 domain.

Do you have the primary DNS for the server you are trying to connect set to the address of the server running the domain?
 
MY bad,too much NT on my mind these days! (unfortunately it is what I have to play with everyday)
