Joining mp3 files?

What tool do you guys use to edit and tweak your mp3s? I have a bunch of little mp3 files off a self-help CD that I want to join into 1 large mp3.

I checked around, and the best I found, mp3 Surgeon, will only let you join a 2-minute file without registering. I'd like a freeware program or an unlimited trial version of another.

Thanks in advance.

Would you be recording the one large MP3 onto a CD for listening? If so, you can use any of the CD-Recording software and set the "in-between-track-time" to 0..so that the MP3's get recorded in one continuing breath, as it were...

If you were doing it for just listening on your HD..then I would covert the MP3's into WAV and use a program like Goldwave/Cooledit or any other WAV editing software and merge them..Regards
