If I joined the bridges badly and ended up cross-connecting them, would powering-up the system fry the cpu, or just put the cpu back to default multiplier?
I've done the pencil trick, it worked at first, but defaulted back to 1ghz after a few reboots. I took off the heatsink, heavily reapplied the pencil, but still, the multiplier won't change. So I'm thinking maybe I cross-connected the bridges (although I checked carefully).
I'm using asus a7v (1003 bios) with ghz tbird.
Thx for any help.
(btw, according to asus probe my cpu temp (full load) has gone down from 52C with coolermaster copper heatsink to 44C with hedgehog w/ delta fan and arctic silver... I strongly recommend this heatsink
