Has any group ever joined forces in SETI? It would be interesting if a bunch of groups formed a coalition to take on some of the bigger groups like Ars Technica and Compaq.

Not that I know (at least not in the top 20) ,though there are hundreds of teams out there.

I know it was disscussed amongst the RC5 team but I don't think it ever happened

i think back in the day there was some idle discussion of the seti team and murc joining forces but we're from different backgrounds so it wouldn't have fit. there was a pretty good alliance with sysopt going on back in the day as well. also tried to merge eccp teams but that was disastrous.
