Six year commitment. I know I'll spend at least 2 years active.

A big hug to all the liberals in P&N. Keep protesting to keep me from fighting!:thumbsup::laugh:

what kind of signing bonus did you get

18k cash
350/month addon to GI Bill
20k student loan payback (the most useful one for me)

Plus, I'm starting out at E-4 rank, which will be Corporal. So about $250/month "salary" for my reserve duties.

Great deal!

Good choice.........

Actually, you'll start as a specialist, not a corporal. That bonus is rediculous! I got 3k when I joined as an MP a while back. Realize that you get a fraction (I think half) up front, and the rest over the years of your contract.

Have fun at leonard wood. That place sucks. So does MP OSUT, but you'll survive. You'll be hating life on the weekends while other Mos's get weekend passes and off post passes and whatnot, but it will be worth it in the long run.

It'll make you a better soldier. If you need any tips/tricks/advice on Osut or being an MP in general, shoot me a PM. And welcome aboard. When do you ship?

Good luck in Basic. I went to Fort Knox for OSUT, 19D Scouts. I started out as a PFC now I'm a 2nd LT. went through ROTC, branched in Engineering. Good luck and congrats for joining the US Army.
