And sales tax totally changes people's shopping behavior for larger priced items on Amazon. I can't believe people try to say it doesn't. I know I don't order many $100+ items on Amazon anymore. Under $50 items I still buy from Amazon for the convenience.

Why would I stop buying larger priced items on Amazon? If I have to go to the store I still have to pay tax.

Not use tax, it's still sales tax that would be owed to the Dept of Revenue.

Yes, and no. Yes, the rate that you pay is usually based upon the state sales tax rate. No, because it's called use tax. Use tax is levied upon goods purchased out of state whether you have them delivered or brought them back yourself. However, if the taxes paid upon purchase exceed the use tax rate, then you usually don't owe anything. For example, if I paid 2% tax on something and brought it back to Alabama, I would still owe Alabama 2% use tax (4% - 2% = 2%), but if I paid 4%, I owe nothing.

They price match more than just Amazon. According to their site, they also price match... Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com. They'll also price match any local store or that local store's online site. Also, sometimes Bestbuy.com has a different price than the store, and Best Buy will also match that.

Target will also price match Amazon. Although, keep in mind that price matches at Target must be done at Guest Services, but you can check out from there.

Hopefully they make Amazon sales in all states collect taxes because we all know that no one voluntarily pays use tax.

When I ran my own business I had too, every quarter I would send in a check for my non-wholesale items.
