I just wanted to send this out because
I want to show people that there is a way to protect yourself
from the perpetual barrage of spyware and ads
that have flooded the internet. I want people to fight back
against this invasion of privacy.I have two recommendations, one is a really short procedure that i think everyone should do because it takes a minute and will save you a lot of trouble later.
the other just adds a bunch of steps that take maybe 20 minutes, but get rid of spyware and ads on your computer fairly effectively if you are in it for the long haul, read the whole thing
if you have just one minute just go to the webpage url below.
i think that everyone should
have this software installed on their computers.

it is called AdFree 3.1 . Just download, unzip and then run the file.
Amazing program.
Even if you don?t do the rest of this, at least download and run AdFree all the time.
To clean your computer of spyware pretty much for good, what i would do
is install " lavasoft adware ", and " lavasoft refupdate ", from download.com .
just copy paste the name of the software to the search.
Then run refupdate and go to the settings and change the saved file directory
to the one that you installed adware in.
Then click proceed. then click on the down arrow next to the server address.
and just pick any one BUT the first two. if another one doesnt work, try one of the others until you get a connection by clicking proceed. then close refupdate and
run adware.
check the box that is the topmost with the computer next to it. then click the next button. It will scan and then a list of files will come up.
right click on one and click check all. then click on continue. it will clean.
odds are that after following this proceedure, with all free software,
you can have pretty much no ads on your computer, and no spyware either,
at least for a while.
the only thing you have to do after you do all of the above stuff once is
right cick on the little rectangle with an x in it and
click update server list.
this can even get your email taken off mailing lists.
You can make any picture cover up all the ads.
