At that price point, there have to be way better tasting options. You are well into some serious 15-20 year old scotches at $350. I like the concept but at the same time I would think bottling up the various leftovers from years past as exclusive ~200 bottle runs would be a better use of unused liquor. Maybe I will see if the local tasting bar ends up with some and give it a try.

That's a steep price point for a blended whiskey. I'm a single malt guy myself. I've been all in on Balvenie the last couple years. Plenty of great 15 - 20+ year options at less than this price point, such as:

Yeah, no.
Can't imagine it tasting twice as good as jwb.
Rather buy 2 jwb
You aren't paying for quality. You're paying for rarity and the experience. After a certain point, quality is about the same, and it becomes more of a subjective model. $350 is nothing in the world of whisky. You can pay thousands for a bottle, and still be running in the world of plebes. I doubt I'd get this bottle. There's plenty I'd like just as well at a lower cost, but you never know. If it was in front of me, and I was in the right mood, I could see it going home with me.

Yeah, I think that I'll stick with Black label for now.
there's a huge difference in taste between black label and jwb.
i cant sip black label. i mix it with coke thus im wasting $ treating it like red label.

i can easily sip jwb with an ice cube.
love the Smokey flavor.

also read that 'chivas regal 21' has great smokey flavor at 1/2 the jwb price.
will try that when total wine has it on sale

how about green and blue in your opinion?
i had jw island green.
too harsh to sip with ice cube but it was the best tasting scotch/whiskey with coke zero.

i would gladly pay the premium over jw red. (dont remember how much i paid for it. this was years ago.)
too bad it's hard to get
