IMHO The Killer was a better movie.
Now that movie is hard to find now.

deepdiscountdvd isn't showing all the DVD specs on its page. You can do a search on the site for them individually and it'll show you all the specs. Both DVD's have English and Cantonese language tracks.

Or, you can look at DVDempire's listing which lists the specs and box shots.

A good deal. Now if only you can find "Hardboiled" for cheap.

While you are at DDD, you can also get the following:

Dark City $5.99
Short Circuit $ 5.99 (pre-order)

Holy craptastic director.
I really wonder what type of person actually likes Woo movies. Let me carve out my eyes while watching windtalkers or broken arrow or face off or any number of other horrible movies he's made. Why does he keep getting jobs?

The quality of his US movies is up for debate, but his HK features (have you even seen them?) prior to getting US deals were groundbreaking and incredible to watch.

I would also agree that his HK movies are much better than the stuff he does now for Hollywood. He's altered his style a bit for the American market. A bit too much glamour not enough substance. Not to say that he don't like the stuff he makes now, but the old stuff are classics to me.

A Better Tomorrow 2 is definitely worth owning, for the extended final battle in the mansion alone.

Well, no one is asking, but I see John Woo every once in a while at a dim sum place near by my place.

You can argued that "A Better Tomorrow" start the wave of similar "gangers film" since 1986. And was a big hit.
By a Hong Kong film history stand point, you can see how John lead. As well as Chow gained his star status.

The killer and rest are later 90s film.

The Killer was made in 1989...I think you may mean replacement killers...a piece of crap not even worth owning. His American films do him no justice. The Killer and Hard Boiled is essential viewing. He is more than a guy who can dual wield pistols that never run out of bullets...he is also known for some of light hearted comedies from his earlier works. And we can see he can pull of a sword just as well as he pulls off the gun in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. He's just the man.
