Saw the new Keanu Reeves movie called John Wick. What a disappointment. There was zero originality and the plot of the whole was...well, there was no plot, just a lot of shooting and blowing up cars.

Here is the exciting plot of the whole movie.
SPOILER:

1. Russian bad guys for no reason break into his house, kill his dog, steal his car.
2. John Wick gets mad and kills them all.

Guess what Hollywood, this scenario has been done oh i don't know, 1000 times already. It was 100 minutes of pure agony as you couldn't care less if John Wick lived or died. Please DO NOT make a John Wick 2.

Zero originality? LOL. John Wick was greatly entertaining and exceeded my expectations...which were pretty low. Save some generic "why would you do that" parts and bad accents, I had a good time.

It was a fun movie; I didn't go in expecting it to be an oscar winner, and thusly was not disappointed.

6.5-7/10, legitimately.

Tried to get my Bro to see this movie but he's being a complete dick! "Naa, looks stupid blah, blah, blah." Idiot!

Want to see Taken 3.

I agree with the OP; John Wick was a bad movie. The thing is... I have no qualms with the action scenes, but everything else in between was either boring or just unintentionally, comedically bad (e.g. when he was racing toward the construction equipment). The problem with that is I got bored from the big lulls between the action... especially when stuff that didn't really further the (very miniscule) story was taking place.

In my opinion, if you want a movie that's similar, just go watch Taken or Shoot 'Em Up. Taken is a bit more serious than John Wick, and I'd say Shoot 'Em Up tries to be even sillier than John Wick, but they're both definitely better movies.

For no reason? Pretty sure they spoon fed you the reason in the movie.

Other than that I agree with EvilYoda and Blakeatwork

I walked in expecting a smash-em-up action movie and it delivered. I'd give it a 7/10 for the genre.

What did you expect?

The melee+gun stylistic fighting was interesting.
