OHN Travolta's 16-year-old son has died after an accident at the movie star's holiday home.

Jett Travolta reportedly hit his head in a bathtub on New Year's Day.

Police told the Associated Press he was declared dead at a hospital in the Bahamas.

Family lawyer Michael Ossi said Jett suffered a seizure at the family property at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.

Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, he said.

The teenager had a history of seizures. Preston has said her son suffered from Kawasaki disease, which can lead to heart problems for some children.

Jett was the oldest child of Travolta and actress Kelly Preston. They also have an eight-year-old daughter.

A spokeswoman for Rand Memorial Hospital on Grand Bahama Island could not comment for privacy reasons.

Wow... what a horrible way to go. One minute you're taking a shower, then all of a sudden you seize and die naked in a pool of your own blood from a head trauma. :(

I'm sure you wouldn't think of saying that if it happened to someone close to you.

I wonder if they allowed their son proper medical treatment? I know Scientologist go against modern medicine, IIRC. I'm pretty sure they're against any type of medication. Pretty sad if that contributed to his death.

Oh, the Travoltas are Scientologists? Then I shall laugh in their faces at the death of their spawn. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I met Mr Travolta and his wife Kelly right after Katrina.

They were the first to arrive with supplies in their personal jet and I got my shots from their staff.

Sorry for their loss

It's scary how quickly you can die. One slip in the tub and it can be lights out forever. Humans beings are so fragile.

Well, I was going to initially post something regarding the Scientology, but thought against it. Actually, Scientologists share this belief with CS--remember how Tom Cruise elected to perform ultrasounds on his wife? He wouldn't allow a thetan doctor to do it.

Regardless, it's extremely sad for the family and no one should have to go through it.

I would not wish this on any parent. I know what it does to a family to lose a child.:(
