Anybody see John Stossels report on the election in his "Give me a break" piece. He basically said that the government is to big, to slow and since it's monopoly that it has no motivation to change.

1. Some states use voting machines that are over 100 years old!

2. The air traffic control still uses "TUBES" in there computer equipment. There 30 or 40 years old and no company produces them anymore which causes kaos when they break.

3. The entire airport system is a mess and they admit it's there fault. They just don't know how to run the air transportation system.

Is anyone surprised at this? It seems like the government uses a "if it aint broke then don't try to fix it. If it is broken then get the duct tape." policy.

I saw some report on the voting machines with the levers and counters, they might be old, but they would have done a better and more reliable job than those punch ballots, and it's not physically possible to vote for more than one candidate when you are using the levers.

Actually the voting machine weigh a 1000 pounds and are always breaking down. They also are very innaccurate.

Yes the Government still uses tube technology that is at least 30 years old. The radar systems are always breaking down but nobody is willing to cough up the money to finally upgrade the system to 70's, 80's, 90's,or gasp modern technology. All I can say is if you fly pray like crazy that one of the tubes doesn't blow.
