I voted for john stewart because I have been watching him for years, but both are extremely funny. Sadly, they also report more informative news than any other news station (in my area at least). They are both so witty and respect all their guests even if they are of the opposite political standing.
Gotta agree with you on this one. The interviews win it for Colbert imo. Did you see the one with Brian Greene? His clearly unscripted remarks were pure genious.
Colbert is great, but I'm afraid he's easily crushed by John Stewart. I wish Colbert were still working for the Daily Show, I actually found him more entertaining there.
I can't choose. Colbert is a fresh approach, more in line with the Editorial style News programs over Stewarts Evening News approach. The shows also have a very distinct difference in feel. Due to the one-man nature of he Colbert Report, I think it might not have as much life as the Daily Show though. I'll enjoy them both while they last.
My favorite is the Daily Show. Their headlines and news stories are great. Jon Stewart is hilarious, and his interviews are full of very witty improv. In my opinion, the show stays fresh because of all of the people involved, and the 'news-esque' approach.
The Colbert Report is awesome as well. However, I do not think it has the staying power compared to the Daily Show because it is a one-man-show and could get stale really quickly. Colbert is funny... probably one of the best people on the Daily Show (next to Jon Stewart). I hope it stays for awhile!
Love both shows, but two things give the Daily Show the edge: The fact that the Daily Show has lots of different people cycling through, keeping it fresh; and Jon Stewart's interviews. Colbert's interviews aren't really interviews, they're just him being funny. I feel like he talks more than his guest. I like the interviews on the Daily Show both for the humor and the interesting aspect.
PS-for the last time, it's Jon Stewart, not John. 😉
Im going with Colbert. Ive only watched a few episodes of each recently, but the Colbert Show is out of this world funny. I think im going to put Daily on Notice.
