RIP...saw him at an outdoor blues festival with Guitar Slim Jr., Johnny Winter, and Stevie Ray Vaughan back in the late 80's. Epic show, was pretty much overwhelmed by all the incredible guitar playing even before Stevie came on to close.

Always wondered if we would have had Cream or Fleetwood Mac without him.

An emotional Eric pays tribute to his mentor.

Yep, he was the headliner the first time I went to the Filmore.
RIP John Mayall

I pulled out my John Mayall albums, all 4, which I've had since the 1960's. They are 4 of his first 8 albums. Listened to the first 3 and will listen to Bare Wires today, which is the last Bluesbreakers album.

A Hard Road - John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers (John Peel wrote the notes & John Mayall did the AMAZING painting for the front cover!)

John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton

The Blues Alone (Keith Hartley played drums on many tracks)
