I will be watching this thread. I have the same issue when man-scaping "the boys" with my Gillette Fusion after neglecting to do so for a while.

Maybe if you two got together and gave each other a hand it would all work out in the end :p

You should post this in the Garage. What condition are your blades in? The surface that is angled up aft of the cutting edge is designed to generate the lift needed to propel the clippings into the bag. These surfaces wear over time and can get so thin that they are actually a danger. You may have mulching blades on that are designed to be used without a bag to chop up the clippings.

Real men burn the hairs off with a propane torch.

Most likely, Get new blades.

Over time, the "wings" that provide lift can weàr down due to abrasion (dirt particles.

You might want to try some manly blades:

Other considerations:
Sharpen the blades. Even New blades need sharpening (because they are dipped in paint and paint edge is dull)
Level your mower deck, on a concrete pad, with inflated tires, your mower blades should be even height right to left and generally .5" lower front than back.
Make sure your spindles are solid, and working. A wobbly blade won't cut right
A belt or PTO slipping might impact blade speed.

My father had this problem. He had taken the blades off to sharpen them and put them back on upside down. After I turned them back over his bagger worked again.:)

Try raising your deck a setting or two.
Mowing too low can cause backups because 1) more grass 2) less room for blades to lift.
