John Bolton pwned on Jon Stewart

Just saw this episode last night, and I was proud to be an American for the first time in a LONG time. If every neocon whacko bushite would have to face that kind of public humiliation every day I think we'd quickly be left with semi-competant politicians. Also made me think that every politician should be required to study journalism and debate instead of just business and law (primarily). Once you get embarassed like that you tend to start checking your sources and only making claims you can effectively defend.

edit: not meant to be a political debate thread really, just an off topic enjoyable video clip from The Daily Show (hence it's not in P&N).

And bolton was a complete douchebag on that issue as well. He should leave history to the historians.

Yes, it was a rerun. I think Stewart was too easy on him. Bolton was quite arrogant, and either deliberately lying, or else quite ignorant.

I loved the summoning of Doris Kearns Goodwin.:D

Well, I agree but I understand Stewarts actions. He's a talk show host, not a historian. Regardless of if he knows better or not it's not his place to refute. By not stooping to the level of all the other talk shows and 'debate' forums on tv he rises above their petty bickerings. I think that's one reason he can still book neocon guests...they know he won't destroy them while they're on.

They did not show the interview, they showed some creative editing. It's easy to make someone look bad that way.
I'd rather see the interview with the statements in context.

Oh it was exactly that bad Bolton looked a total Tard the whole interview based on what he was saying and Stewart just let him run with it and then snapped the rope back the next night :)

And Bolton was the IDIOT that Bush wanted to be our ambassador to the United Nations, and even appointed him with a recess appointment. Thankfully even some Republicans couldn't stomache such an idiot and Bolton left public service.

I watched the video, and Bolton, while coming off as a nice guy overall, was definitely full of sh!t.

You're probably right. I think it's his soft way of speaking and that dopey mustache that made him seem like an ok guy to me... when it comes to politics he is a pandering douche who believes the president should do whatever he wants.
