So to be clear you’re saying things would be better if Manchin had been replaced by a Republican instead?

Remember - that is the ONLY choice. Manchin or a crazy Republican. Which is better?
In hindsight probably a crazy Republican.

the problem with this is that the plot was well and truly lost before we got to the point of hainvg to "tolerate" Manchin to get to these things, at that time.

It should have never been that way.

Manchin is, always was, and always will be a fucking ghoul. You can praise that he was "there" to be a problem to be dealt with in a time when you and I know very well that we never should have dealt with him, but to dismiss our rational ability to criticize the complete piece of dogshit that he is and how he represents the complete degeneration of rational public civil discourse and public policy is quite absurd to me.

Why can't The Manchin lobby of P&N actually admit what you pretty much agree with, when this is what we are complaining about when we invoke these human oxygen thieves?
Making deals with the establishment devils has not turned out well for Democrats longterm that is for sure. The only maverick candidate on the board is Trump. As bad and psychotic as he is it would seem that the American people prefers that over *that*. And _that_ should tell you something.

How the hell is these people doubling as elite day traders?

I feel like that is an example of the deep corruption in US politics that you need to get rid of to win the hearts of the people back.

Without senate control the 1st 2 years, Biden would have been able to push back why he couldn’t do things. Low info voters have no idea how much Manchin has blocked. Student loans. Gun safety. Nation wide abortion. Climate bills
Low information voters have no idea how legislation truly happens. That's why the Republican "block everything" strategy works.

But doesn’t make sense the flip side. Well Dems had full control 2021 and 2022. They did nothing. Let’s flip the house so Biden can do less!!!

Just in case you aren’t getting it, low information voters (of which I’d say most voters are), don’t understand let alone care how government works. We live in the misinformation age now, sound bites and memes rule the day.

it’s called thermostatic equilibrium. Voters don’t actually like it when parties change things, at least not initially. That’s why the president’s party nearly always loses seats in the midterms. Biden actually performed very well in the midterms as compared to either Trump or Obama.

This all misses the point of governance though. The point of winning elections is to enact your agenda, not conduct PR so you can win the next election and then…also do nothing.

full control means clear majorities. that was not the case with the senate. now if biden had had...60 senators, you can damn well bet Dems would have steamrolled a lot more legislation in 21 and 22.

I'd say we have a left that can't govern because the right won't permit it and a right that won't govern because the rich don't want or need it. A police state that cant touch them, the rich, is perfect.
