We've really slipped into extreme Dear Leader zone here. Between his constant self praise and an unending stream of increasingly outlandish complements out of Fox News that makes me genuinely wonder if they have pistols trained on them during broadcasts it's quite a year.

I don’t think so, this sort of performative fealty isn’t that uncommon with personality cults. You could see it over at the_donald - it was basically a competition to find who could praise him most effusively.

Kind of funny that the people who claim to despise virtue signaling would do something like that but these aren’t exactly the smartest people on the planet.
