How the hell was Bristol's pregnancy newsworthy?

It was proof that abstinence-only sex "education" does not work. If Bristol learned to use a condom, it never would have happened. Regulating the cocaine use of 27-year-old women is not nearly as high a priority for Mr. Biden as mis-informing teenagers about sex is for Ms. Palin.

no, it really wasn't... Bristol Palin attended a high school where comprehensive sex ed was taught.

Both she and Levi dropped out of high school, according to Bill Maher's show. Anecdotal evidence doesn't prove it, but there's plenty of evidence aganist abstinence-only sex ed.

For decades Biden has been at the forefront of the war on drugs, supporting new prohibitions against methamphetamine, Ecstasy, steroids used by athletes, and other new drugs as they became popular. Biden wrote the legislation that created the position of a national "Drug Czar", and his Anti-Drug Proliferation Act provides 20-year prison sentences for club owners, concert promoters, and people who throw parties in their home if drug use takes place in such settings.

The RAVE Act was first introduced in the Senate in June 2002. (A House version was subsequently introduced in October). Senate supporters put the bill on a fast track. It passed the Senate Judiciary Committee a little over a week after it was introduced, without a public hearing or recorded vote, and was expected to quickly pass the full Senate. The potential impact of the legislation on free speech, public health, and innocent business owners sparked tremendous concern among a broad-range of groups, including the Drug Policy Alliance, American Civil Liberties Union, American Hotel & Lodging Association, American Beverage Licensees, and Rock the Vote. It also spurred thousands of electronic music fans across the country to organize and engage in political action.

Biden wrote the RAVE act.

I wanna see the tape! Too bad the Post was too cheap to pay for it. Didn't stop them from writing about it breathlessly though. Fascinating!

Uh, how is this not public blackmail? Regardless of whether or not she does it, none of you see a problem with trying to sell this tape to the highest bidder?

Besides being sleazy and immoral, no I don't see a legal problem with it.

Mercilessly...

They hammered Bristol and Levi mercilessly too...

Will we see the same treatment?

You know the media knew about this long ago, too.

Nope, they won't even run it, which is why the guy isn't getting any bids on the tape...had this been a simialr incident with the Bush twins they would have paid top dollar and then some...remember the messiah and biden are their golden children and the media on the whole will do everything they can to make the dream team look good.

the hypocrisy in this thread from some is amazing. its ok to nail on Palin (and bristol) for what happened. yet its NOT OK to nail Bidden?

personally i think anyone blaming Palin or Bidden for what there child has done is insane. you can't control a 17 yr old girl anymore then you can a 27 yr old.

She should kick the guy in the Nads for being a douchebag. There'd be Legal issues doing that, but he'd deserve it.

I love how the wingnuts completely gloss over the 'allegedly' part of the article's title and the note 'the woman appears to resemble Ashley Biden'. So its automatically her? I'll believe it when its confirmed.

Wingnut666 again, why should I be surprised.

Frankly it is well-known that President Bush (not his daughters - him) was a cocaine user well into his '30s. If this tape really is Ashley Biden, my sympathies go out to her parents because the incident will cause them a lot of embarrassment, but I fail to see how it reflects on Joe Biden (any more than GWB's alcholism and drug use reflected on GHWB, also a vocal supporter of the "War on Drugs," and indeed a co-creator of it). If I had a 27-year-old daughter it would be my strong preference that she not use cocaine, but when I was 27 I knew plenty of successful professionals who did, and it didn't lead to their lives and their families crumbling or, indeed, any dramatic consequences at all.

Evidence of Cocaine use only stays in your system for 3-4 days.
