Another vote for cotton. I don't get itchy balls, but I unfortunately spend a lot of time hot and wet. Synthetics are disgusting.

cotton is the worst for hot summer weather. takes forever to dry. get a nice material blend boxer brief like champion performance tech. they changed my life.

Cotton works fine. I do have the blend underwear too, but $18 for a pair of underwear isn't necessary.

Cotton chafes when you're wet if you're moving.

I've been wearing cotton underwear for 40 years and never once had a chaffing issue (and I exercise a LOT). Maybe you're getting the wrong size?

Ketoconazole cream will kill it. Major relief in 12 hours. You need a prescription for it, at least for the good stuff you do.

Apply PVC glue to the effected area. I promise it'll never itch again.

for people who don't sweat as much or are in cooler climates cotton may be good enough but for everyone else, there is a noticeable performance difference. also not all blend underwear that is good is $18. champion performance tech is just under 10 bucks a pair on amazon.

again, with the chafing issue some people are more susceptible due to more sensitive skin for example. it's not the wrong size, it's the wrong fabric. for them.

a lot of technical hiking gear, for example, is not cotton. one reason is it doesn't dry as fast as blends. cotton may be the fabric of our lives, but it's not the best for everything.

Review...hahahhahahahahahaaaa!

Works on taint and coin slot, too
By JAMES P. on February 17, 2014 I suffer from Tourette's Syndrome. If you are unfamiliar with this affliction, a simple explanation would be that you have unwelcome repetitive tics that are uncontrollable. My tic is scratching my balls. Even if they don't itch, I have to scratch my balls every 15 seconds, even in my sleep. That's not the worst part. My tic is accompanied with an uncontrollable howl, much like that of a wolf. It gets better. The only way I can scratch my balls is with my foot, like a dog. I'm not a bad looking guy, but the only way I can get laid is with a deaf and blind prostitute, and the only deaf-mute prostitute in my town was just put in a old folks home by the state. She was 86, and her roomate got real mad at me the second time I came for visiting hour. This product was the only thing that worked for me. I spray it on my balls in the morning and usually don't scratch or howl until at least by noon. If I take the top off the bottle and tea- bag it, it seems to last longer- at least until dinner time. It's really been a lifesaver for me.

Eh, I buy that kind of expensive exercise underwear, but reserve use for strictly exercise.

I have, however, found that the Hanes X-temp underwear (both cotton blend version and 100% poly) are freaking phenomenal as everyday wear. I've sworn to them 100% now that I've got a week's worth+ of pairs, at least when it's not cold, we'll see about winter when that rears its ugly head again. You get 3 or 4 pairs for that $15 dollar mark.

A big, BIG tip for people who do get any kind of performance blend, even if it is 100% cotton but designed to wick moisture (some X-Temp is like that, and there are others like UA's Charged Cotton series)... never, ever, ever use fabric softener.

Ever.

I've committed to a regimen where all my "performance apparel" is washed separately with Sport Wash detergent and dried without dryer sheets (and for those who use it, no liquid softener). Softener completely ruins the capability of the apparel, and I suspect any review on Amazon that said any performance underwear was warm had probably washed everything with the regular laundry. Fastest way to waste money. It may or may not be possible to "save" apparel that has been tainted with softener - I suspect enough washes may revive it but I don't know.

In the evening, scrub really well with antibacterial soap.

In the morning, shake some medicated body powder down your shorts.

KEEP DOING THIS long after the itch goes away. 24 hours will not be enough.

Tea tree oil will kill fungus, but I suggest you dilute it before applying to sensitive areas. Really.

This morning it was itchy like crazy but it's a little better right now. I've been jogging a lot more to cut some weight recently and so i got the itch all of a sudden.

Use aftershave.

Think about it, you use it on your chin and you don't get jock itch there do you. It'll kill off the fungus and dry the area up.

I absolutely promise that you won't notice any itching for a while after applying it.

With my limited knowledge of American anatomy I would suggest that you stop hanging them from the back of your truck and dragging them down the road.
