A little bit about myself
I was a psuedo proj mgr. I like the idea of project management. i even took the week long training for it (work paid). But i need to do ALOT more studying to get the PMI certification. (equivalent to the computer world's Cisco CCNP.)
but since i quit my job, i dont feel like getting the certification. But w/o the cert, i know i cant get a job in proj management. (in my old job, i was more like a coordinator and had no power.)
I also took the Strong-Interest job test. It says i like to be hands on. ie: carpenter or car mechanic. again, i dont feel like going to school to learn it.
basically, my work experience has come from on the job training. if i'm not already in the job, there's no interest for me to acquire more skills for the job. but how can i get a job w/o knowing anything? catch-22?
Let me clarify:
i got first job because of my college degree in computer engineering. but the job was tech support and i knew nothing about that. but i learned it on the job. then all my jobs after that was through being at the right place at the right time. Getting a job by luck and fate is no longer working.
So what does this say about me wanting to do something that interests me, but not willing to go thru training to learn it till AFTER i'm in the job? but also understanding that i wont get the job w/o training?
So what does all this say about me?!
