I've been looking for a law-related job or some kind of ex/internship since January, with no success. I graduate law school next spring and I have basically nothing to put on my resume, and my grades are average. Well, I sent out about a dozen resumes to various places, mostly small law firms, asking for any kind of position available (unpaid, filing papers, anything).
Anyway, my sister told me today that her friend (who just graduated from the same law school) got a job at one of the places I sent a resume to but didn't get a response yet. The first assignment they gave her was to type up rejection letters. She called up my sister to let her know that she typed up one of them with my name on it 😱 I should be seeing it in the mail next week.
Well, this has been a series of humbling experiences. I thought that I'd be guaranteed a job when I started law school but apparently some people who graduated this year with better qualifications than me (but haven't taken the bar yet) still don't have a job lined up. I'm starting to envision myself living at home next year, working at Best Buy. 🙁
(I could use some :wine: )
