Job Situation what would you do?

I may be able to offer some insight. I spent 30 years working for corporate food service as Chef and Manager. First, you can throw logic and good business practice out the window. Corporate is interested in one thing and one thing only, they don't care what you do as long as the metrics are met so that they get their quarterly bonuses.

Talking to the folks at the top is a waste of time. The short term news is good in that once the corporate powers that be know they've got someone they can work like a dog, they will continue to do so. All the while haranguing you for doing a miserable job but, they won't fire you.

So, the decision you have to make is whether you will put up with the bullshit for a good paycheck or, will you take a significant cut in pay and tell corporate food service to go fuck themselves. I did and am very glad I decided to leave.

First of thanks for all the replies, loved the sawed off idea

Outcome: Went to work today and my immediate manager saw that I was stressed and we talked about how Ops mgr chewed me a new arsehole over what happened on my 2 days off (and how is this my problem again I ask)? The supervisors were in charge. So anyways my immediate manager tells me how he got ripped into for bs stuff also yesterday. He told me that he was ready to quit today around 5am. I setup him up with everything and we went over the game plan for the rest of the day, done around 6:45am. He asked "What else are we missing" I said "another manager" and handed in my keys, etc... He was shocked but totally understood. He has failed this audit twice and basically refuses to go back into this restaurant. I was willing to fire these other piss asss supervisors but he wasn't (only his position and higher can fire) as he knew that he was the only one qualified to move back in to that restaurant. He said that he would give me a good reference and I believe him as I have made him look good many times by my hardwork. Wife is happy and doesn't care if I have to go back to bartending or waiting to make ends meet as long as she doesn't have a stressed to the max husband.
