Lately I've been looking for new employment, closer to home, less of a drive, better parking etc...looks like I finally found a new job except it makes me want to scream all the hoops I have to jump through. When I applied for the job I had to put down references and my last 3 employers and provide copies of my certifications and licenses, then when I interviewed with the manager I had to include references and my last 3 employers and provide copies of my certifications and licenses, then when I accepted the job this morning I had to goto HR and provide references and my last 3 employers and provide copies of my certifications and licenses :mad::thumbsdown:! Does anyone talk to anyone? Or do I just have to fill everyfreaking thing out in triplicate?!?! This is why I hate hate hate HR.

WTF! I mean this wouldn't be so bad if I could just cut and paste but no they have these proprietary forms that you have to fill out over and over again. Perhaps this is just to prove my mettle that I actually want this job?! Dang. Thank god all that paperwork is finished. Except now I have to get my blood drawn and piss in a cup, joy. I'll bet there will be more paperwork for that too:mad:.

/end weak rant

And I start July 18th, can't wait. Hopefully there won't be more paperwork between now and then.

Sounds like they out sourced part or all of their HR department.

And yes, they will be more paper work if benefits are involved.

Better hope the rest of the company isnt this unorganized\inefficient. Or it sounds like you arent going to like it too much. This is part of the interview process for you. If a company cant get their shit together one something like this, I would had told them to fly a kite.

At this point I might just cry.

And yeah I have to do benefits paperwork but meh that's not horrible.

Thanks for the congrats, it'll be nice having a 16 mile roundtrip drive instead of a 75 mile roundtrip drive. I'll save something like $80-100/month in gas alone.

Unfortunately most hospital systems are this grabasstically unorganized. Where I'll be working seemed pretty organized/well run.

blood drawing for drug testing im assuming?
I wouldn't be surprised if nurses have to have a blood screen for diseases and such before starting a job in case they get something during work and try to sue the hospital.

edit: Or what he said.

Piss in a cup for drug testing.
Blood draw to prove immunity to certain diseases(chicken pox, measles, hep B)
TB test too.

yea it would have made more sense if i had read your username and got that you most likely worked for a hospitial

That is good to hear. You working in the ER? Or a different dept?

Yeah still in the ER but in a small community hospital not Level 1 Trauma which I've done for the last 5 years, just need to get out of the rat race/cattle herding that defines life at a large medical center.

This ER is only 24 beds much more personal and 100% less stress. Plus it's an extra 30cents/hr so that's a plus too.
