Job search experience survey for research paper

Not realy looking for a job. unless it's money for nothing. or booze testing. or god of pr0n. or something like that.

1) What kind of position do you look for?

Software development, software testing, and IT.

2) Do you use Job Posting Directories such as Monster.com, Dice.com, etc?

Yes, but I have no luck from them.

3) If you don?t use Job Posting Directories, what method do you use?

I interned for HP and used their internal job search service. Got me about 6 interviews.

4) Please post the Job Posting Directories that you visit the most, if there is a few please list them in order.

NA. Don't go anymore.

5) What is the Year that you started looking for a position (important because of Economy downturn)?

January 2003

6) How many resumes did you send out since first started looking for a job until you got hired?

Around 200

7) How many responds did you receive from your application?

10

8) How many of those responds turned into job proposition?

1

9) Through what means do you think is the best way to secure a position (e.g. Referrals, certain job sites, forums, head hunters, career fairs etc)? Please list.

Referrals are the best way. I got an interview just because someone referred me. Didn't get the job though 🙁
Career Fairs are a total waste of time for me.
Never tried head hunters.

10) Lastly, please tell me about your job search experience.

Very disappointing. Sent resumes for jobs for which I am clearly qualified for, live in that area, and what not. No response. Even attached projects and what not. Still nothing. Minorities get first dibs at jobs is a big farce in my opinion. Applying to government positions is a total waste of time.
