I made initial contact with a rep from a particular company at a job fair in October. He gave me his contact info and I followed up the week afterward with a letter and copy of my resume. I'm not finishing grad school until May, so he told me to contact him again in January or February. What is the proper method of communication here? Should I send another cover letter and copy of my resume? Email? Phone call?

I think a letter is the most professional way, especially if you're not graduating until May.

Show up at his house
Mow his lawn
Date his daughter

He will get you a job just to get rid of you....

call in addition to letter and copy of resume and E-mail.

All three?

job goes to the one who tries to get the most.

I'd send in the mail 9x12 envelope first class USPS.
Send e-mail with brief intro/followup and resume
Call "just wanted to make sure you know my package is coming, I'll check back in a week to see if you need more information"

Let's face it - in the professional arena you get hundreds of e-mails a day and if doesn't require your direct attention you trash it. Its so easy to hit the delete button.

voicemail and more importantly a piece of paper force the reader to read it.

I would send a nice letter that asks him if he needs another copy of the resume. That way you can follow up in a week and get more contact with him. You then have an excuse to bug him and it might not look like you are stalking him.

Or wash and wax his car.
