Job Rejection

I've interviewed with a pretty large bank out in Boston for a Systems Trainee position at their company. I've been looking since this May 2004 when I graduated with my B.S. in Business Information Systems, so it's been a struggle. The first interview went well, good enough that they called me back for a second interview. I thought it went pretty well, and answered the questions from the 3 people who interviewed me pretty well. But I received a rejection call today. I have to say this sucks. What do I have to do to get a damn break? Finally a place that shows some interest and I can't close the deal 🙁

Sorry, just needed to vent.

Don't worry about it. What you should do is call them and ask what you can improve on. Maybe they could tell you why they wern't interested in you? Good luck man. A good book for the next search is "250 interview questions"

If it helps...I heard of this actor....who went through 900 acting auditions before getting his first acting job.

I can't remember his name, but i remember being amazed by his determination

same just happened to me. the world is a crappy place. but you'll find something that suits you better. i'm still looking.

i've gotten two rejections from Freescale and NI....great companies to work for...i was pretty bummed both times. Good luck to you, it's tough but a very good lesson in life.

I got two rejection calls last week. I hate it when you have a great interview, mail out thank you letters for the interview, then call back just to hear that they have gone with another candidate. Companies these days are terrible about contacting the people that they interview in person.

Huh! Go Austin! And Sugar Land - Woo Clements!

Some job rejections are not indicative that you did not possess the right amount of skill and talent, rather someone you were competing against had better connections re: that specific job.

You only graduated 6 days ago, so don't worry. Some time and patience and you'll land a sweet job. 🙂

I meant May 2004 🙁 I've been looking for a year now, with no luck. I've tried networking with people I know, including a couple of my Uncles who have worked in IT for years, but the places they work have hiring freezes. I'm working 40/hrs a week in retail right now to make ends meet but I didn't graduate college to work in retail the rest of my life.
