Job Question:

Why would they need to check your driving record if you aren't in a position that involves driving/operating a company vehicle?

Also, IMO, a credit check is waaay overboard for most jobs...your credit and how well you work are two different things.

The only way they're going to find out where you worked is if you listed it down and or talking to other people. There is no database that keeps where you have worked for your entire life unless it's stated on your credit report.

They are two different things, but some companies believe that people with bad driving records and/or bad credit don't make for good employees. Just like people with bad credit pay more for car insurance - they have found a correlation between credit and number of claims.

Why you worried about it friend?

If you are applying for a job at my daughter's school, I'd probably want to know if you were a sex offender. Most job investigations have reason, and I'm glad they do.

ugh, i've been waiting for a background check to process since third week of april and last I checked this week, they said it should be ready in about 4 weeks.
be very patient.

credit check and drug screening are mandatory for all finance related jobs (at least for the i-banks in nyc)

other things they may investigate: your previous employer & salary.
