I ask this cause I might be tempted to jump from a small boat to a big cruise ship :).

No perl experience, but some shell scripting, java and c++. No .NET either.

some experience is great!

the job is open to fresh college grads and above. amazon doesn't use .NET so dont worry.

you know i find it interesting that people complain that jobs are moving to india but even the jobs here are being filled with indian immigrants when americans cant or wont fill the jobs theselves. this kind of thing happens a lot

Well the fact that you say the position needs to be filled ASAP is not good for people that aren't in the area. I fit all of your requirements and then some, but it would take me at least a month to tie up ends here and move across the country. Oh well - good luck :D

It's weird that you only want a Word document too. A PDF is the professional way to go.

The job is for a full time Software Design Engineer which includes all the benefits there in. The working environment is good. people are relaxed and easy going but problems need to be solved pretty quickly, if you cant handle pressure this job isn't for you. Starting Salary is commesurate with the experience of the candidate. the position is open for a junior developer but if you are more qualified it cant hurt to apply as they will be happy to see you too.

"commesurate" is misspelled, hrmm, sounds like hypocrisy to me :)

being filled and being started are two different things. in the corporate world, having empty headcount is bad and it can be taken away from you, so managers like to fill the poistions asap so they dont loose the headcount when they have it.

In fact its such a perk that when you get hired i will give you your very first ticket!

my group and the group that the position is works closely together so we will probably see a lot of each other (in a totally plutonic way!)
