Don't renege on your first offer without the second offer in writing, otherwise you're at the mercy of the second company.

I'd be happy to travel for my company. I'm young, single, and don't have many other obligations right now.

I'd much rather it be me than someone with a family they'd prefer to see.

QFMFT but I cant get my current employer to get a job that involves travel without a degree (which is bs).

I have a 3yo daughter, and if world travel was 20-30% of my job i'd still do it.

I did this a few years back. It was for a basic tech support job right out of school. The company loved me, and my dad actually worked in a different division. I worked there for 4-5 months before jumping ship. That was after an internship towards the end of school, too. The managers weren't too happy, and they actually made me meet with the VP of the whole company. I called them out on a few things that I was lied to about (yes, wear tshirts on friday - get yelled at for wearing tshirt on fridays, etc.) as nicely as I could.

I didn't care about management, only the guys I actually worked with. They were all for it, telling me to do whatever makes me happy and I have to think for myself. Now, two years later I'm making double what I was at the other job, and it's an 8 mile commute instead of 43. It's a tough thing to do, but ultimately you have to do what you think will make you happiest.
