Been here 16 years
Each month:
14 hours vacation
8 hours sick leave
14 paid holidays
I also can and do earn 75 hours of CTO (Compensated Time Off in lieu of overtime)
We can carry over 640 hours of vacation from year to year and unlimited sick leave.
When I retire I can cash in 2000 hours of sick leave and get an extra year of service credit.
I can also take my 640 hours of vacation as I retire to carry me into another quarter for higher retirement benefits.

But, I am under paid. You have to take the good with the bad.

I also work for the State, but I don't nearly get that much time off. Oh well. Haven't taken any of my vacation time yet. I am hoarding it up. 😉

I work for a company that gave me 2 weeks the first year, but made me eligible for "Job Credit" which bumped me another week in the 2nd year. So it puts me in the 3-5yr range (I think). I have never known a Human Resources Dept to be too flexible. Too many changes to the normal employee profile make them jumpy. I have been able to negotiate salary, but vacation was one of the policies set in stone....
