Had a job interview on Sat. I think it went pretty well, am going to write a thank you note and send it to her. Has anyone else ever sent a thank you card to an interviewer? Just trying to do everything I can to land this position

I have. It's not desperate...it's polite. I usually just make it short and sweet and make sure to thank everyone I met and include names whenever possible.

If I gave an interview and then the interviewee sent me a thank you note, I'd be thinking one thing: Suck up. It would hurt their chances for the job, but that's just me.

Yeah its not a thank you that you want to send, its a follow up letter that very short adn mentions names and reinforces your skills, etc....
Its like the follow up call you should make a couple of days after the interview.

From what I've read some kind of follow up is common post interview etiquette. I sent a thank you note to my last interviewer once I got home and he replied with an offer.

It was short and to the point, "Thanks for your time" type of thing. worked for me.

Make it short and to the point, not suck up style. Make it show that you have desire for the position, but don't make it sound too desperate. :beer:

Just say thanks, that you enjoyed the interview, and maybe include anything else you forgot to say.

Well you know nothing about HR or the business world. You ALWAYS send a e-mail or thank you note/letter.

I have been on many interviews. This will be the first time I have ever sent a thank you card.

Back in college and law school, the career counselors said you should always send "Thank You" letter. If anything memorable happened during the interview, you might want to mention it in your letter too. It helps the interviewer remember who you are, especially if they've done many interviews.

Always, if you want the job, and sometimes if you don't just to let them know you don't.
In my letter (form letter for that purpose) I ...
say thank you
restate relavent qualifications
some bs about wanting to join the team
restate contact info

the folks that interviewed you can lose things and forget stuff, if you make a strong positive impression you can stay in the running alot longer. If I don't hear from them by the time I expected to I have another letter that I send.
