Job Interview with Google Tomorrow

I've got a phone interview tomorrow with Google tomorrow night, and have heard how arduous their hiring process can be. This job is really important to me, and I'm sure a few of you have gone through their interview process, so if anyone has any advice I would be very grateful. Thanks.

I did a phone interview with them, and IIRC it was for a technical quality consultant position. It was for a 6 month assignment, so I didn't care much for it, but it was very relaxed... I talked to a guy probably my own age and they went straight into the technical questions. We talked, he said he'll pass along my answers, information to the hiring manager, then 1 week later I heard that I wasn't fit.

Good luck to you though.

What position?

If I remember correctly, google prefers missionary.

im at work, but anyone wanna googlefight missionary vs doggy?

http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?lang=en_GB&word1=missionary&word2=doggy

Missionary came out on top, no pun intended.

Text <-- Probably NSFW either

Oh and good luck! Don't do something stupid like use the bathroom or have the TV on while on the phone and you should be OK 🙂

prepare an answer to the question that is most asked at all interviews
how does your education/background/experience make you the best person for this job
it should be a 3 to 5 minute rant total

practice this at least a few times outloud
if u need someone to ask you that question do it
it helps you perform it better when grilled by someone you don't know

thats about it
all other questions technical or not stem from this one thing
good luck

Damn, this is a good idea. I am looking for a 2nd job and I never really thought about rehearsing my answers.

Answer questions using the word "I" instead of the word "we". I don't know how applicable this is to you, but it's the best advice I've gotten from a recruiter. Also, this is the one time when you need to be completely upfront about how good you are. Don't go over the top, but don't be afraid to brag on yourself a little. There's nobody else there to speak up for you, so you have to do it yourself.

Thanks to all who have replied. The position is for a "Technical Solutions Specialist, Ad Traffic."

Ah, actually nevermind my previous reply to this thread, that was the position I interviewed for. IIRC, they sent me a exercise sheet to fill out and submit. Let me check my email and I'll forward it to you if I still have it.
