jinxed PC cases

Need advice QUICK... Anyone ever heard of a case stopping a box posting at all.

I swapped a working p166 into a nice big rackmounted case, and it didn't even post. back into the old case, posts fine. Not the PSU, as i used the same one in both.

Anyone ever heard of a case being jinxed?

maybe the mobo isnt grounding properly? its all i can think of.

i've had this happen to me

it's nearly definitely the mobo shorting - take it out & try posting while it's lying on a piece of cardboard. If it works - tape the cardboard underneath the mobo on the case (I did & it works fine 🙂)

You did use some kind of standoffs in the new case right?

rolleyes all you want. this thing is jinxed so if i just hold hardware over the case it stops working.

This is weird as hell. thinking case has got a mag field...

lol anyway.
