They should have had MIT students do it. They could have probably coordinated a bank of microwaves to play that popular Trans-Siberian Orchestra musical number.

Nothing geeky about that.... just some very simple math and timing. Geeky would have been to override the controls for the microwaves to have them play their tones on demand and in proper time.
