Former Led Zeppelin guitarist, Jimmy Page has announced that he will tour in 2010, whether or not his former bandmates join him.
Pagey has a number of new songs written and plans an album release, with promotional tour, for next year. He said,Were running up to Christmas now and next year I have every intention of playing music live and manifesting it. Ive got the music waiting, and thats what Ill be doing. Its been two years since The 02 show [Led Zeppelin show in London's O2 Arena in 2007], so its time to do that.
Cool.
Theres currently no word on whether Robert Plant and John Paul Jones will join their erstwhile colleague. Planty is busy working on a second album with Alison Krauss and Jonesy is still working with Them Crooked Vultures (with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme).
With or without the rest of Zeppelin, it should certainly be worth a trip to see Jimmy in action.
Cant wait.
