Former Led Zeppelin guitarist, Jimmy Page has announced that he will tour in 2010, whether or not his former bandmates join him.

Pagey has a number of new songs written and plans an album release, with promotional tour, for next year. He said,”We’re running up to Christmas now and next year I have every intention of playing music live and manifesting it. I’ve got the music waiting, and that’s what I’ll be doing. It’s been two years since The 02 show [Led Zeppelin show in London's O2 Arena in 2007], so it’s time to do that.”

Cool.

There’s currently no word on whether Robert Plant and John Paul Jones will join their erstwhile colleague. Planty is busy working on a second album with Alison Krauss and Jonesy is still working with Them Crooked Vultures (with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme).

With or without the rest of Zeppelin, it should certainly be worth a trip to see Jimmy in action.

Can’t wait.

ooooOOOOO

wonder what ticket prices will be

would love to see Plant and Jones join
I missed that era of music and never had a chance to see them live, and living in the U.S., I couldn't afford to make the trip for the O2 show.
LZ jumps around the top spots of my favorite bands ever list.
