Jimmy Carter hints at supporting obama, Jane Fonda also voting for him

Carter:

We are very interested in the primaries. Don?t forget that Obama won in my state of Georgia. My town, which is home to 625 people, is for Obama, my children and their spouses are pro-Obama. My grandchildren are also pro-Obama. As a superdelegate, I would not disclose who I am rooting for but I leave you to make that guess.

on fonda:

Fonda was eating out last night and exited the restaurant, ignoring as celebrities often do the assembled press contingent.
But a video camera was rolling as she approached the street and someone, perhaps just trying to get her to turn around for a picture, shouted out at her back, ?Who are you going to vote for??
There was a moment of silence. Then, the actress did turn around toward the cameras, paused and with a smile said simply, ?Obama!? Then she got into a car and drove away.

I don't think these two supporting obama is going to make much of a difference to the average voter. Carter is important only because he is a superdelegate, but he was a poor president so not too many are going to utilize carter's input when making a voting decision.

Yep, two people who the right love to bash - although Fonda does kinda deserve it. Looks like another push to slime Obama so that Hillary looks more appealing to right-leaning moderates, because as the right loves to opine - Hillary winning the nod means the Dems losing this year, right?

Hilarious. Dozens of prominent politicians and public figures are voicing support for Obama, and hardly a whisper from the GOPers about that, but as soon as ol Jimmy Carter and the semi-traitorous Fonda speak up, well shit! Time for some bulk emails and forum threads!!!

I guess their pastor campaign is losing traction...

you're right about Fonda, but I'm pretty sure the endorsement of another former President is a good thing -- even Carter! I'm pretty sure Hillary wouldn't have minded Carter's endorsement...

Jane Fonda's endorsement is worse than useless, but Carter is a legitimate elder stateman and worthy of great respect IMO, even if he was a shitty President.

I have a severe headache. The mention of Carter and Fonda set off a ton of bots in my brain and they all tried rushing to the surface to make me scream at once. I went into vituperative convulsions of rage and actually crapped in my pants. I needed to be rushed to the hospital because my aorta nearly burst. Carter and Fonda in the same breath are more than my programs can take. I ran out of ram trying to retrieve all the data. It was like trolling a garbage dump for a corpse.

OMFG, I had no idea I was such a profoundly programmed tool and such an imbecilic fool. I need to call Rubbermaid to see if they can contain me.

I personally don't mind Carter, but the general opinion among the independent or moderate democratic block is not so favorable. He's been so negatively hounded that it will probably be a couple decades after his death till his legacy can be resonably examined.

Nobody is saying anything about trying to be like these people. Most of the country has already had their say in the Dem primaries, so we are looking for gauges that might tell us who will be nominated.
Who cares what Fonda thinks, but Carter's opinion matters both because he is a superdelegate and because he is still very politically connected.
