INDIANAPOLIS -- Jim Mora was fired Tuesday after four seasons as the Indianapolis Colts' coach and two days after he tearfully declared he wanted to stay in the job.

Frankly, I liked the guy..... thought he was an okay coach, but to cry and whine like he did at that last press conference.... made me sick

Well, if it worked for Dick Vermeil, it could work for Jim Mora, too, right?

I think it's both -- he's extremely passionate and sensitive, but he's a little TOO emotional. Just like Dick Vermeil.

"Playoffs?! (voice crack) Don't talk to me about playoffs. Are you kidding me?! I'm just hoping we'll win a game!"

He needed to go. The best reaction I have seen him do is when he was asked mid-season during a press conference about the playoffs?

He simply yelled: "Playoffs?"

It was hilarious.

If he cried 'cause the Colts just won the superbowl, that would be on thing. But he cried 'cause he got fired.

HAHAHAHahahahah!!

I remember that. You know what? It is fun to see an animated coach at a press conference, though. I hate the guys that get up there and just feed you cliches and mindless spittle

"Yeah, we played hard today, but came up short"
"It's a shame to come away with a loss, but the team played a solid 4 quarters and didn't give up"

blah blah blah

He should know that coaches getting fired/hired happens all the time in pro sports. Instead of crying he should have been actively looking for other places he could coach at.

Another Mora quote:

"We got our a$$es totally kicked... our offense didn't do diddly-poo in the second half... we sucked."

It was better than watching a stone-faced coach talking about his team needing to "establish the running game"(of course, you would not say this after having finished the regular season 6-10, but...). Nice to see something different, I guess.

I say he was honest, but he was out of place. A coach is not allowed to disgrace his whole team on national television (over and over and over again). That's the reason why they give the canned speaches. Any of you who think that his rant isn't normal (only off camera instead of on camera) has got to be smoking crack. Almost all coaches yell at their team if they mess up as much as the Colts did that game. I have mixed emotions about him being fired though. I expected him to get penalized for what he said. I also don't think the team could fully trust him to keep his mouth closed if they f*ed up again, but did he say anything that wasn't true? No. So basically I feel it was the right move, but I feel sorry for him as well. He should have kept a cool head about the matter.

Didnt he do the same thing in New Orleans before the hammer dropped there? I believe he did. Jim Mora is probably what John Gruden will be like in 30 years(if he lives that long) He is probably one of the most animated coaches out there and his press conferences this year were some of the best entertainment on the sportscasts.I mean here is a guy who is close to 70 and he still has that fire inside of him to win(or at least cry trying).

Peace
